The recitation of the Liturgy of the Hours is the principal task of a Benedictine monk, nun or oblate. Known in Latin as the Opus Dei or in English, the Work of God, the Office is said five to seven times each day depending on the individual monastic community. For oblates, they are obligated to say at least Lauds [morning prayer] and Vespers [evening prayer] commonly known as the hinges of the Office. Below is the schedule/horarium that I follow.
